Howard's Squares
Join us as we learn from Howard Zabler about his squares technique. Howard is a fiber artist that has traveled around the United States for his art- selling at art shows and as a dealer of knitting machines for decades. He has won awards at Madison Fair on the Square and the Ohio Designer Craftsmen shows, and was featured in the May/June 1978 issue of Fiberarts Magazine. His sweaters were also on the cover of Fashion Knitting around 1980. He created this squares technique and has knit multiple hats and sweaters using it. We’ve been asking and now he’s going to teach us this technique to make a hat. Once you learn the technique you can make so much more than a hat, think bags, sweaters and blankets!
We only offer this class once or twice a year.
This is a 3 part 2 hour class. Class size is limited to 10.
Finished Project: Hat
Skills Needed: Knit and Purl
Skills you will gain: How use this technique to make a hat and then you can build on it to make so much more
Supplies: 1 skein of Worsted weight yarn and a small amount ( 55 yds mini skein) of a contrast color
24” US size 6 needles, pen and paper, scissors
At least 1 skein of class yarn must be purchased from Fox River Fibers. All supplies purchased for the class will be 10% off. Printed and electronic pattern will be provided.

orders will ship via DHL. Standard USPS shipping is free on domestic
orders over $75, expedited shipping may be purchased at checkout.

In-store pick-up orders should be ready for pick-up the day the store
is open after you place it. You will receive a confirmation email when
it has shipped or is ready for pickup. If you wish to pick-up an order
in store sooner, please call the store.

Items may be returned for in-store credit or exchange. Returns must
be in original condition as sold - unused with all labels and packaging
intact and undamaged. Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by
since your purchase, we unfortunately can’t offer you an in-store credit
or exchange – it’s yours, enjoy! Orders shipped internationally cannot
be returned. Books, patterns, needles, notions, kits, sale items,
discontinued items and wound yarn are not returnable.
